Can someone explain to me why being discommoded is a bad thing? Seems to me that if were seriously and deeply commoded, I’d be grateful if someone pulled me out….

(I assume that “discommoded” comes from some word unrelated to sanitation and plumbing…)

To be discommoded is to be inconvenienced, so I imagine that a “commode” is a “convenience”.
