This has got to be the single most interesting article on Dan Brown and The Da Vinci Code that I’ve yet seen. There’s no there there, folks.

Brown is a terrible writer who groks cliffhanger plotting just about perfectly. The only reason there’s any controversy is his rather silly posturing about his research and “FACT”. From what I’ve read, though, his epiphany wasn’t “How To Write a Bestseller” but, rather, Sydney Sheldon’s wretched The Doomsday Conspiracy which, almost point for point, is constructed the way Brown structures ALL of his books. Brown’s books are, at least, better than that one. Slightly.
